Game Jams
This section highlights my game jam projects and community involvement with Global Game Jam, Pirate Software, and the VIGD Discord server.
In January 2026, I entered into Pirate Software's Game Jam 18 along with two others to make FPV Drone Training in response to the increased NATO defence spending. We made a last minute decision to keep this project on Windows as to not change the render pipeline for our shaders, ultimately withdrawing from the competition.

In January 2025, I joined Pirate Software’s Game Jam 16, forming a team of five. Within hours, I prototyped our concept, and by the end of the week, we built a minimally functional online multiplayer chess and card game. Players can host or join via a generated code. This project was developed using Unity’s built-in version control.

Global Game Jam 2025 was an exciting challenge! I successfully integrated Llama into Unity for a pet daycare simulator. While I didn't publish the game, I had a great time assisting other developers alongside competing in Pirate Software’s jam.
During Global Game Jam 2024, I teamed up with Sheldon and Dan to create Jamfest, a split-screen racing game where players summon terrain to block each other. Sheldon handled the music, Dan managed playtesting, and I developed the game in Unity. In just 48 hours, we brought it to life!
I put a lot of thought into Jamfest’s design, balancing mechanics, gameplay flow. Using Unity’s TreeGen package, I repurposed tree models into rocks and controlled their spawning with linear interpolation.
To keep gameplay smooth, I added a 2-second digging mechanic to clear obstacles and a universal cooldown system to prevent spamming, complete with particle effects for polish. For performance, I deleted terrain behind the camera.
A hidden speed boost helped trailing players catch up without giving them an unfair lead. During the demo, a trailing player used the comeback mechanic to leap over their opponent and across the finish line in a glorious display!

Special thanks to the VIGD group for organizing such fantastic gatherings!
